During a telephone conversation with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Turchin on April 28, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin discussed trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as integration cooperation within the framework of the Union State. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the government of Belarus.

It is noted that the phone call was organized against the background of the upcoming talks between Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Volgograd on April 29.

On April 17, Lukashenko said that a closer unified system of cooperation could be built within the framework of the Union State than in a unitary state.

Earlier, on March 13, during a press conference with Lukashenko, Putin said that the agreement on security guarantees between Russia and Belarus had entered into force. He recalled that this document defines mutual allied obligations to ensure reliable defense and security of the two states.
