Israel will be represented at the Victory Day Parade on May 9 in Moscow only by the country's ambassador to the Russian Federation, Simona Halperin. This was reported to Izvestia on April 28 by the Israeli diplomatic mission in Russia.
"Our ambassador will represent the Embassy and the State of Israel," the Israeli Embassy in Moscow clarified.
The participation of other Israeli officials is not expected, the diplomatic mission clarified.
On the eve of the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin will officially announce a list of all foreign leaders who will visit Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
A number of foreign leaders have already confirmed their participation in the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9. Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, and President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will take part in the celebrations.
