Deptrans of Moscow announced a reduction in the number of illegal carriers

The number of illegal carriers has decreased in Moscow. In the first three months of 2025, more than 1.5 thousand vehicles of such violators were moved to special parking lots. This is almost 33% less compared to the same period last year, the Metropolitan Department of Transport announced in its Telegram channel on April 28.
Illegal carriers were most often located near the metro stations Annino, Lesoparkovaya, Nekrasovka, Lyublino and Domodedovo.
According to Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's Deputy Mayor for Transport, illegal carriers pose a threat to passenger safety. They often work on faulty vehicles, their drivers do not comply with work and rest conditions and do not undergo pre-trip medical examinations. At the same time, insurance for the duration of the trip is not valid, he noted.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that foreign drivers had found a way to circumvent the ban on working in taxis. Taxi aggregators have started blocking the accounts of foreign drivers who have not changed their license to Russian ones. Foreigners who obtained Russian citizenship or a residence permit before April 1 last year and did not exchange their national rights for Russian ones before April 1, 2025, will have to take an exam at the State Traffic Inspectorate.
On April 22, it became known that the cost of taxi rides in Russia has increased 2.5 times in five years, with a 22% increase in the last year alone. The average check for all regions in the first quarter of 2025 increased to 460 rubles compared to the same period last year.
