Experts have predicted an increase in demand for trucks in Russia
Demand for trucks will grow in the second and third quarters of 2025. This will have a positive impact on sales by the end of the year, follows from the forecast of Alfa-Leasing, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 29.
According to experts, there are a number of prerequisites for this. The beginning of the season in the agricultural sector will increase the demand not only for trucks themselves, but also for the transportation of fertilizers and seeds, especially in the southern regions. The demand for transportation of building materials will increase to complete major construction projects in the south of the country in Sochi, Crimea, and the Azov coast.
Analysts also believe that Russian truck manufacturers have every chance of sharing the market with Chinese automakers, which by the beginning of 2025 had lost more than 10% of their share and now account for 52% of sales. At the same time, according to the company, the volume of domestic machinery sold increased by 14.5% in the truck tractor segment — up to 24.9%, dump trucks — by 12.5%, up to 28.2%. In March of this year, the KAMAZ brand became the sales leader (32%), which sold more than 1,580 units.
The main incentive for the growth in demand for KAMAZ brand trucks was the expansion of the company's product range. In addition, experts noted that the demand for gas-powered transport, including freight, is growing in the regions of Russia, and the domestic manufacturer has something to offer in this direction.
Earlier, on April 28, it was reported that Lada Vesta, Lada Granta, Kia Rio were the most popular cars among Russians in January – March. This follows from the data of the SberAuto service. At the same time, 93% of sales accounted for used cars, 7% for new ones. The median check for the purchase of a used car was 1 million rubles, and a new one was 1.6 million rubles.
