Russia is awaiting the official visit of President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to participate in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was announced on April 28 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Rio de Janeiro.
"We are waiting for the official visit of President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to the Russian Federation to participate in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory," the Russian Foreign Minister said.
He noted that the Russian side is also preparing for a visit to China to participate in the celebrations on September 3 on the occasion of the defeat of Japanese militarism and the end of World War II.
On the eve of the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin will officially announce a list of all foreign leaders who will come to Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Xi Jinping, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva have already confirmed their participation in the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9.
