The expert noted the importance of separate regulation of the brewing industry

Separate regulation of the brewing industry is an important point for Russia, the country should be a leader in the brewing and cider industry. This was announced to Izvestia on April 28 by Alexey Nebolsin, head of the commission for the production and turnover of brewing products of OPORA RUSSIA.
According to Nebolsin, beer and cider are low-alcohol drinks, and their alcohol content is much lower than in other similar products.
"There should be separate regulation for them, this is a completely separate segment in the alcohol industry. Brewers want only one thing: that they have clear, understandable rules of the game, a vector of development. <...> This is a low-alcohol Russian, artisanal, historical drink that must be supported the way wine from Russian grapes is supported," he believes.
Nebolsin also drew attention to the fact that in Russia there are unique beers that "beat all competitors" on the international market. He noted that the country should be one of the leaders in cider making and brewing due to the historical origin of these drinks in Russia.
Earlier that day, an expert advisory council for the development of the brewing industry appeared in Russia on the initiative of Baltika. In the near future, the council intends to develop a common approach to addressing emerging challenges, as well as form proposals to change the current regulation of the beer and alcohol industry.
It is specified that Taimuraz Bolloev, President of Baltika, has become chairman of the expert advisory council for the development of the brewing industry. Besides him, Nikolai Tyurnikov, CEO of AB Inbev Efes, and Dmitry Kiselyov, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia, also joined the board.
