In the Trans-Baikal Territory, Rinat Khismatulin, head of the Department of Civil Defense and Fire Safety, resigned at the height of the fires. This was announced on April 28 on the website of the regional department.

"The Governor of the Trans—Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, signed an order dismissing Rinat Khismatulin, head of the Department of Civil Defense and Fire Safety, from public service on his own initiative," the message says.

It is specified that the acting head of the department will be Deputy Khismatulin, head of the fire safety department Andrei Kovalchuk, added "Газета.Ru ".

Earlier, on April 7, Osipov reported that an emergency regime had been introduced in the region in connection with forest fires. According to him, almost all fires in the forests of Transbaikalia since the beginning of the year have been caused by humans. The governor stressed that the situation remains tense and called for the protection of the region's forests.

On April 25, it was reported that in the Trans-Baikal Territory, since the beginning of wildfires, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has protected 30 settlements from the passage of fire. It was noted that specialists were able to eliminate the flame on 52 hectares and stop its spread in the village of Zhireken.
