- The media reported on the process of restoring electricity supply in Spain and Portugal

In the autonomous community of Spain, the Basque Country, power was restored 1 hour and 15 minutes after a massive blackout across the country. This was reported by the newspaper El Pais on April 28.
"The general shutdown occurred in this autonomous community around 12:30 (13:30 Moscow time. — Ed.), but the power supply was restored by 13:45 (14:45 Moscow time. — Ed.)," the article says.
The portal Portugal Resident, among other things, announced the start of work to restore electricity supply in some areas of Portugal. According to the newspaper, the E-Redes operator has shut down in "certain areas" in order to stabilize the network, but disruptions are still observed in the Algarve region in the south of the country. According to the publication, the outages were caused by "a problem in the European electricity grid that affected the national grid."
The Spanish government is currently holding an emergency meeting due to a power outage, Euronews said.
A large-scale power outage in Spain and Portugal was reported earlier in the day by Bloomberg. It was clarified that this affected the operation of public transport, power lines and telephone communication in some parts of Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon. The government representative clarified that the Canary and Balearic Islands of Spain were able to avoid power outages.
