The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in the order fixed the workload on teachers of educational institutions exceeding the maximum indicators. This was announced on April 28 by the head of the Ministry, Sergey Kravtsov, at a meeting of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation.

"Today we are rationing, including the workload for teachers, so that 1.4 rates is the average workload for a teacher — five to six lessons, no more," TASS quoted him as saying.

Kravtsov stressed that changes to the current legislation are needed to resolve this issue. At the same time, he clarified that standard recommendations on staffing had already been sent to educational institutions, but these measures needed to be worked out.

In January, the Teacher trade union made a proposal to the Ministry of Education that a teacher's workload of more than 18 hours per week or the work of social educators and educators of more than 36 hours should be paid as overtime. It was noted that at the federal level, it is also necessary to increase wage guarantees in the form of salary rates so that people go to work in schools.
