Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a truce during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was announced on April 28 by the Kremlin's press service.
"By the decision of the Supreme Commander-in—Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, based on humanitarian considerations, on the days of the 80th anniversary of the Victory — from zero hours from 7 to 8 May to zero hours from 10 to 11 May — the Russian side declares a truce," the Telegram channel says.
It is noted that during this period, Russian military personnel will cease to conduct military operations. According to the Russian side, Ukraine needs to follow this example. According to the report, in case of violation by the Ukrainian side of the truce, the military of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will give an adequate and effective response.
In addition, the Kremlin clarified that Moscow is once again demonstrating its desire to carry out peace negotiations without preconditions related to the elimination of the original causes of the conflict. It is noted that the state is also ready for constructive cooperation with international partners.
On the eve of the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov shared that in the near future the Kremlin will officially announce a list of all foreign leaders who will come to Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
