A man was injured when a motorcycle overturned in the Murmansk region.

A Ural motorcycle, driven by a 41-year-old resident of the village of Afrikanda, overturned on a highway in the Murmansk region. The victim was hospitalized, the press service of the Regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reports.

The traffic incident occurred the day before, on April 27, on the 14th km of the Polyarnye Zori–Afrianda highway. According to police, the motorcycle driver "incorrectly chose a safe speed" and lost control.

The Ural flew off the road into a ditch and overturned. The motorcyclist suffered various injuries and was hospitalized, Bi-port news agency said. The circumstances of the accident are being established.

Earlier in the day, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry told Izvestia that over the past weekend, on April 26-27, 504 accidents occurred on the country's roads, in which 54 people were killed and 644 injured. 47 of the dead were passengers and drivers of vehicles.
