- Naryshkin pointed to the involvement of Western European countries in military conflicts.

A narrow circle of Western European countries is behind all the significant military conflicts of the last three centuries. This was stated on April 28 by Sergey Naryshkin, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), at the international symposium "On the Significance of Victory over Nazism. Lessons from the creation of the United Nations".
According to him, the upcoming celebrations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War encourage a rethink of historical processes and the formulation of certain conclusions.
"One of them is that the source of all the largest military conflicts of the last three centuries is a narrow circle of almost the same Western European powers," TASS quoted Naryshkin as saying.
He clarified that this applies to many conflicts, including the Seven Years' War of 1756-1763 and the Second World War.
On April 25, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said that Western countries were provoking humanitarian crises and armed conflicts. He also pointed out that Western intelligence agencies are conducting informational and psychological sabotage aimed at destroying basic moral and cultural norms, traditions, religious foundations, institutions of marriage and family.
