- Mishustin announced the successful opposition of the Russian economy to anti-Russian sanctions

The Russian economy has withstood numerous restrictive measures imposed on it. This was stated on April 28 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a speech at the federal educational marathon "Knowledge. The first ones."
"Competitors are trying to restrain Russia's development, block access to innovations and resources. Microelectronics, machine tools and equipment, airplanes, medicines and medical products — all this has become the subject of restrictive measures, of which about 30 thousand have been introduced against our state. More than anyone else in the world. Despite them, the Russian economy has survived," he stressed.
Mishustin noted that the experience of the sanctions standoff will make it possible to further strengthen Russia and has proved that the Russian Federation should rely only on its own strength in its development.
The Prime Minister added that trade wars are now intensifying in the world, protectionism and sanctions pressure are increasing. Despite this, Mishustin stressed, Russia is now one of the four strongest economies in the world.
On April 25, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, announced that sanctions against Russia had not prevented the growth of its trade. He noted that the Russian economy has grown by 4.1% over the past two years. The volume of foreign trade maintained a positive trend.
Prior to that, on April 24, Maxim Chirkov, associate professor of the Department of Economic Policy and Economic Measurements at GUU, said that the economic losses of the European Union (EU) due to the sanctions confrontation with Russia already amount to trillions of dollars, and the situation continues to deteriorate. According to the expert, the European authorities will eventually be forced to reconsider their position.
