Mishustin noted that in order to provide high-quality medical care, it is necessary to have effective medicines manufactured in Russia. He believes that the main task is to make modern methods of prevention and treatment more accessible to the population.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the national project "New Technologies for Saving Health", which is aimed at achieving the goals set by Russian President Vladimir Putin to protect the health of the country's population. It will help to combine all developments in the field of medicine, as well as strengthen support for research and production of medicines for the treatment of cancer and other diseases.

On March 28, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) announced a reduction in prices for four vital drugs. Among them are pills for the treatment of diseases of the respiratory system, lymphoma, breast cancer, tachycardia and hypertension. For example, the cost of the antitumor agent "Brookins" (with the active ingredient "Zanubrutinib") It turned out to be 31% lower than the minimum price in the countries that are the reference for Russia, and 7% lower than the average selling price in 2024.
