Any Israeli attempt to attack Iranian facilities will receive an immediate response from the Islamic Republic. This was announced on April 28 by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

"There is no military option here, and there is definitely no military solution. Any blow will be immediately followed by a response," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Araqchi also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is trying to dictate to US President Donald Trump what steps to take during diplomatic negotiations with Iran.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on April 20 that the country had never planned attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities. He explained that Jerusalem does not want to allow Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons.

On April 16, The New York Times newspaper, citing sources in the White House, reported that Israel had planned an attack on Iran's nuclear infrastructure for May of this year. However, Trump rejected this initiative in favor of negotiations with Tehran. If the initiative is implemented, Israel will need the help of the United States to protect itself from retaliatory attacks by Tehran.

On April 19, the second stage of negotiations between Iran and the United States on the nuclear program took place. The Iranian delegation was headed by Araqchi. Washington was represented by the US President's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. Later, the American administration suggested that some progress had been made at the Rome meeting.
