The Ministry of Agriculture reported an increase in rapeseed oil production

Rapeseed oil production has increased in Russia. So, in the first quarter of this year, 382 thousand tons of products were produced, which is a quarter more than in the same period last year, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

"These dynamics make it possible to increase exports of products: in the first three months of this year, it increased by a third and a half in physical and monetary terms, respectively, to the level of 2024, including through supplies to China," the ministry said.

It was also noted that Russia contributes about 7% to the global physical supply of fat and oil products and occupies the second position in the world in rapeseed oil exports.

In the first three months of this year, Russia supplied more than 400,000 tons of rapeseed oil worth about $400 million to foreign markets, said Ilya Ilyushin, head of the Agroexport Federal Center.

"Compared to the same period in 2024, the volume of exports increased in physical terms by a third, and in value terms by almost 1.5 times. In recent years, China has been the largest buyer of domestic rapeseed oil, accounting for more than 85% of our supplies at the beginning of this year. Compared to the first quarter of 2024, Russian exporters increased shipments to China by a quarter in physical terms. I would like to note that Russia is the largest seller of rapeseed oil for China, occupying more than half of the Chinese import market," he explained to Izvestia.

According to him, in total in 2024 the geography of deliveries covered 29 countries. In 2025, supplies to the DPRK were carried out for the first time.

Earlier, on February 12, the Ministry of Agriculture reported an increase in the production of vegetable oils. It was noted that in 2024, domestic producers produced more than 10.4 million tons of vegetable oils, which is 6.9% more than the level of the previous year.
