The first meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the Forum was held on April 24 at the Government House. Substantive and organizational issues were discussed at the meeting. Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Forum, drew attention to the fact that the well-coordinated, highly professional work of representatives of federal and regional authorities, volunteers, medical personnel and security services is especially important in the conditions of the SVR.
One of the topics of the Forum's Organizing Committee meeting was also the issues of interaction with the international expert community, taking into account the international status of the Forum. Alexey Dyumin, Assistant to the President, Deputy Chairman of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports, noted that it was important to strengthen cooperation with international organizations at the Forum, including regarding the unsportsmanlike suspension of athletes from participating in international competitions. Moreover, we are talking not only about Russian athletes, but also about representatives of other countries.
The Forum program will consist of business and exhibition components. The first two days of the Forum's business program will be devoted to issues of international cooperation, the development of solutions to fulfill the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation in the field of sports, and the discussion of topical issues of the implementation of the integrated program "Sport of Russia". The third day will be a youth day, when the playground will be open to the general public, and youth meetings with famous athletes will be held in the session halls.
The 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will also be reflected in the business, sports and cultural programs of the Forum. Among other things, a set of relevant events will be planned, emphasizing the world-historical significance of the Victory of the Soviet people, dedicated to decisive battles and other significant milestones of the Great Victory. Special attention at the Samara Forum will be paid to the possibilities of sports in the rehabilitation of ITS participants, including the development of adaptive sports.
This year, the Forum will be held in an updated format: with a new corporate identity and logo, referring to the legacy of the Sochi Olympics, said Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, President of the Russian Olympic Committee. He added that the sports and entertainment program will be an organic continuation of business discussions, which focus on the development of international sports relations, national sports, and support for youth sports. Its main events will take place in Samara and Tolyatti and will include tournaments with the participation of leading athletes, mass races, flash mobs, charging, tournaments and workshops in street sports. Gala basketball and hockey matches will be organized for the Forum participants.
The venue of the Forum's exhibition program will be the Solidarity Samara Arena football Stadium, which hosted the 2018 FIFA World Cup games. The cultural program will include theatrical performances, exhibitions and sightseeing programs representing the cultural and historical heritage of Samara.
Business events and professional discussions on topical issues in the field of physical culture and sports development occupy an important place in the business programs of key international venues in Russia.
