The soldiers of the DPRK army special forces who participated in the liberation of the Kursk region are being trained in Russia. Footage from the landfill is published by Izvestia on April 28.

Russian instructors who train fighters from the DPRK in tactical techniques and handling of Russian weapons are working with military personnel.

The training program includes rifle training, handling anti-tank weapons, fighting enemy drones and storming fortified positions.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the Korean People's Army special forces soldiers who took part in the defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) group in the Kursk region. He noted that the actions of the Korean military fully complied with international law and the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, signed on June 19, 2024.

On April 28, the DPRK Central News Agency reported that the country had confirmed the dispatch of army special forces to the Russian Federation in accordance with the strategic partnership agreement. The KCNA stressed that the Korean side will continue to support the "sacred cause of the Russian army and people."
