Experts named Chinese competitors Lada Iskra

Changan Alsvin and Geely Emgrand may become competitors for the new Lada Iskra model in the Russian market. This was told by representatives of dealerships, according to the analytical agency "Autostat" on April 28.

So, according to Fresh's commercial director Evgeny Zhitnukhin, Lada Iskra may be cheaper than Changan Alsvin, but its list of equipment is likely to be more modest. The most Geely sedan in Russia, the Emgrand model, resembles the Lada Iskra in characteristics, but has a high price, he noted.

Alexander Shaprinsky, commercial director of the Pragmatika dealership network, believes that Iskra has no competitors among Chinese brands in its price segment. This model can become "popular" due to the availability and technical equipment, the availability of spare parts and the ability to service it throughout Russia, he noted.

Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat agency, pointed out that there are no "low-cost" models on the Russian market except Lada, and there are no direct Chinese competitors.

On April 19, AvtoVAZ launched production of the Lada Iskra model at the Tolyatti plant and shared the details of the new product's equipment. It will be available in three body styles: sedan, station wagon and Cross-wagon with black unpainted plastic elements on the body.

The novelty will occupy a market niche between the Granta and Vesta models. The start of sales of Lada Iskra is scheduled for July 20 this year. According to the head of AVTOVAZ Maxim Sokolov, the cost of the car starts from 1.2 million rubles.
