Investigators have opened a criminal case in the Vladimir region over the provision of unsafe services that resulted in injury to passengers of a bus that overturned in the Alexandrovsky district of the region. This was announced on April 28 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
"The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Vladimir region have opened a criminal case on the fact of causing bodily injuries to passengers of a bus that overturned on a highway in the Alexandrovsky district, on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements of safety of life or health of consumers, which negligently caused serious injury harm to human health"),"— said in a message posted on the Telegram channel of the regional department.
It is specified that on April 28, at night in the Alexandrovsky district, a tour bus slid into a ditch from the roadway and overturned. The transport was traveling from the Pskov region to Kostroma.
As a result of the accident, 35 passengers sought medical help, 16 were hospitalized. One of the injured is in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Earlier in the day, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that there were 55 people on a bus traveling from the Pskov region to Kostroma. In addition, it was reported that the accident occurred at about 02:40 Moscow time on the M-8 Kholmogory Moscow–Yaroslavl highway in the Alexandrovsky district on the border with the Yaroslavl region.
