The Miass City Court of the Chelyabinsk Region sentenced a man to 3.5 years for extremism and attempted bribery of an employee of the Federal Security Service (UFSB). This was announced on April 28 by the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the region.

"The Miass City Court found a resident of the region guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Public calls for extremist activities committed using mass media or information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet"), Part 3 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Giving a bribe to an official")," the message says.

Law enforcement officers found out that the man is a supporter of radical views. It is clarified that he posted extremist materials on the Telegram Internet messenger.

In addition, in order to evade criminal liability, the attacker offered an employee of the security agency to falsify evidence of his activities for a certain amount.

The court sentenced the perpetrator to imprisonment for a term of three years and six months to be served in a general regime colony, as well as a fine of 150,000 rubles.

Earlier, on April 8, law enforcement officers arrested a resident of the Chelyabinsk Region who was engaged in terrorist and extremist activities. On his social media pages, he called for terrorist and extremist activities, as well as justified or promoted terrorism.
