Alaudinov spoke about the state of health of the participants of Operation Potok

Most of the Akhmat special forces soldiers who participated in Operation Potok to liberate Sudzha in the Kursk region are being treated. This was announced on April 28 by Lieutenant General Apti Alaudinov, Deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, commander of the Akhmat special forces of the Russian Defense Ministry.

"Some of the fighters have returned to service, but most are still recovering, because the time spent directly in this tube really had a very big impact on their internal organs," he said in an interview with TASS.

Alaudinov added that the soldiers suffered damage to their lungs and respiratory tract due to prolonged exposure to the pipe.

The commander of the special forces is confident that the prescribed treatment will give positive results. Alaudinov pointed out that Akhmat is doing everything possible to help the wounded recover, and expressed hope for their speedy return to service.

For the first time since the Great Patriotic War, the unit was named after the places of its battles.

On March 10, it was reported that an operation was underway in the Kursk region to introduce the Russian military into the depth of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the city of Sudzhi. To do this, they overcame about 15 km of pipeline. The operation involved soldiers of the combined assault squad, which was formed from soldiers of the 11th Guards Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, the 30th Regiment of the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division, the Akhmat detachment, and volunteers of the Veterans assault brigade.

The actions of the attack aircraft contributed to the breakthrough of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the disruption of the defense management system of the Ukrainian army along the entire line of combat contact with the enemy in the region. Thanks to this, it was possible to liberate over eight settlements. As a result, the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces raised the Russian flag at the administration of Suji.

Later, on April 26, the head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the liberation of the last Kursk village of Gornal and the complete ousting of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the region.
