Two people died and one was injured in two road accidents in the Irkutsk region.

In the Irkutsk region, as a result of two road accidents, one person was injured and two died. This was announced on April 28 by the press service of the state traffic Inspectorate for the region.

"Police officers of the Inter-Municipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Cheremkhovsky" are investigating the circumstances of two road accidents, as a result of which two people were killed and one was injured," the department said in a Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data from the State traffic Inspectorate for the Irkutsk region, at about 21:00 on 10 km of the Zhmurovo-Parfenovo-Sredny Ulus highway near the village of Tabuk in the Cheremkhovsky district, a 30-year-old driver of an unregistered Suzuki motorcycle drove into oncoming traffic, where he collided with a Toyota Camry.

It is specified that the Suzuki driver died on the spot before the ambulance arrived, and the 41-year-old Toyota driver was taken to the hospital with injuries. Employees of the state traffic inspectorate also found that the deceased motorcyclist had already been prosecuted for drunk driving in March 2025.

It was also reported that at about 23:00 on 1711 km of the federal highway R-255 "Siberia" in the Alarsky district of the Irkutsk region, a KamAZ truck collided with a Scapi car in front. Employees of the state traffic inspectorate found that the truck driver did not calculate the safe distance to the moving car in front, which caused a collision, as a result of which the 40-year-old truck driver died on the spot from his injuries.

"Currently, checks are being carried out on these facts, the causes and circumstances of the accidents are being clarified," the agency concluded.
