Excavator driver injured in bridge collapse in Aniva district of Sakhalin

A bridge running across the Vakhrushevka River collapsed in the village of Troitskoye in the Anivsky district of the Sakhalin Region, as a result of the incident, an excavator driver was injured. This was announced on April 28 by the administration of the Aniva district.

"One of the bridge's spans collapsed when an excavator was passing over it. The driver was injured," the municipal administration told TASS.

The man was hospitalized.

In the south-west of Sakhalin, on April 13, a part of the roadside collapsed in place of a water pipe. As a result of the incident, the movement of all vehicles along the highway connecting the cities of Nevelsk and Tomari with Shakhtersk airport was prohibited.
