- A Russian serviceman spoke about the trophies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine found after the liberation of Gornal

The commander of the 22nd motorized Rifle regiment with the call sign Apostol told Izvestia about the trophies of Ukrainian militants found in the area of the liberated village of Gornal, Kursk region.
"The enemy was quite seriously fortified on the territory of Gornal, since during the assault operations we opened not a single machine-gun platoon, not a single fortification dugout," the Russian serviceman said.
According to him, the Russian military managed to get such trophies as a never-used 7.62mm machine gun and a 12.7 mm Browning machine gun. In addition, a packaged Swedish-made individual food ration (IRP) was found. Almost all the weapons found are NATO-made. The chevrons, some of which are American and Turkish, indicate the ownership of these items. The apostle added that his regiment had managed to capture several Poles.
"The enemy has concentrated quite elite units in this area. We are talking about the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade, special operations forces and a number of other enemy military units and formations. It should be understood that almost all the most basic forces were pulled here," said the commander of the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment with the call sign Apostol.
After the liberation of the Kursk region, there is still enough work. The fields are littered with weapons and NATO technicians. Soldiers of the 56th Airborne Regiment are restoring a Swedish armored personnel carrier on the spot, and sappers are continuing to mine mines, as the militants left thousands of mines and unexploded shells, said Izvestia correspondent Emil Timashev.
"Now the Russian military is faced with the task of creating a buffer zone that will be able to ensure the security of the Russian borders so that it is possible to start dismantling rubble and restoration work in each area affected by the invasion," Timashev stressed.
The commander of the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment with the call sign Apostol told Izvestia that the liberation of the Kursk region was an emotional moment for the military. The assistant chief of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) service of the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment with the call sign Pozhar also noted that he experienced incredible sensations when the flag was raised in the last settlement occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On April 26, the head of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, announced the liberation of the last settlement in the Kursk region from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the village of Gornal. Then he noted the activities of the 22nd Motorized Infantry Regiment of the 72nd Division, the 810th and 40th separate Marine brigades, the 177th separate Marine Regiment and the 1427th Motorized Infantry Regiment.
