Europe recognizes dependence on Russian gas

The European Union (EU) countries have still failed to achieve their plans for independence from Russian gas. He announced this to the Table portal on April 27.Media European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jergensen.
"Obviously, we (EU countries. We are still dependent on Russian gas," he said, noting that such a situation contradicts the political and moral considerations that European countries have been following for several years.
In order to permanently abandon gas imports from the territory of the Russian Federation, the European Commissioner intends to present a roadmap with a step-by-step description of the necessary steps to his colleagues for discussion in the very near future.
The politician also noted that Europe is now significantly dependent on the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States, which, according to Jergensen, does not exclude an increase in imports of as much gas as possible from the United States.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on April 23 that Moscow sees that a number of EU countries are ready to buy Russian gas again, and is ready to negotiate on this issue. He stressed that Russia has never politicized the issue of fuel supplies to the EU.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 17 that the topic of the EU's return to gas supplies from Russia periodically arises against the background of deteriorating relations between Europe and the United States, but the EU's policy in this area needs to be assessed based on specific facts, she noted.
