A room for wireless charging of gadgets has been created in the Russian Federation

ITMO specialists have developed a new method of wireless energy transfer, which was applied in a special room for charging electrical devices that they invented. According to the engineers, it is absolutely harmless to humans and the speed of electricity transfer is comparable to conventional wired charging.

The created prototype has an area of 4x4 meters and a height of about 2.5 meters. To charge a gadget, you just need to put it within the room. Since the energy transfer is made at a certain frequency (1 MHz), it requires a special receiver. It can be made, for example, in the form of a phone case.

"Our development can be adapted to different sizes and shapes and integrated into different rooms. In the future, we plan to assemble a new room and focus on polarization - the direction of the magnetic field. Now we have only horizontal polarization - it means that devices will be recharged only in this position, but we want to add the possibility of charging in other positions," said one of the authors of the development, junior researcher at the research laboratory of wireless technologies of ITMO Aigerim Dzhandalieva.

In the space created by engineers, any number of devices can be charged simultaneously.
