In January 2025, the federal treasury will receive almost 140 billion rubles from the profit tax, according to data from the analytical portal of the Federal Tax Service (Izvestia has studied it). This is 32% more than the same indicator of 2024. Such growth is the sharpest since January 2022 (then it was +65.2% and managed to collect 65.3 billion). However, then it could be attributed to the recovery of the economy after the pandemic.

Data for the first quarter of the FTS has not yet given, but they were disclosed by the Ministry of Finance on its resource - in the "Electronic Budget". According to the portal's data, which were studied by Izvestia, by April 17, 2025, the federal treasury's income tax revenues increased by 35% to 780 billion rubles.

The main reason for the growth of revenues under this item was the increase in the profit tax rate, according to experts interviewed by Izvestia. As Dmitry Desyatnichenko, the head of the educational program "Economics" of the Academy in St. Petersburg, specified, the percentage share of the federal budget has also increased, all this together increased the volume of revenues to the treasury.

From 2025, the income tax rate increased from 20 to 25%. The federal budget now receives 8% instead of 3% (17% goes to the regional treasury).
