Murashko congratulated ambulance workers on their professional holiday

On April 28, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko congratulated emergency medical workers on their professional holiday.
"I sincerely congratulate all ambulance workers on their professional holiday, those who are the first to come to the rescue, who show real courage and the best human qualities in the fight for the life and health of citizens," he stressed.
Murashko noted that this year marks five years since the Day of the Emergency Medical Worker began to be celebrated in the Russian Federation. It became official in 2020 at the suggestion of Russian President Vladimir Putin, when, against the backdrop of the pandemic, ambulance workers became an example of loyalty to professional duty and mercy, showed courage and heroism.
"The ambulance service always works without breaks and weekends. And today, on their professional holiday, thousands of ambulance crews are on call, saving lives," the minister added.
According to him, within the framework of new national projects, special attention is being paid to improving emergency medical care. So, in Russia, 132 stations and more than 1,700 departments are responsible for providing emergency medical care.
He also said that in 2024, visiting teams performed more than 38 million visits to patients in the Russian Federation. Within the framework of the national Healthcare project, more than 14,000 air ambulance flights were carried out in 2024. This allowed for the evacuation of almost 19,000 seriously ill patients in 70 regions of Russia for emergency medical care, of which almost 3,500 were children. The Minister noted that this is the best indicator for all the years of the federal project implementation.
Murashko stressed that, in accordance with Putin's instructions, work on the development of the emergency medical service will continue within the framework of the new national project "Long and active Life."
He expressed special gratitude to the veterans of the ambulance service, whose valuable experience is still in demand today.
"I wish you all professional success, inexhaustible energy, well—being to your loved ones and, of course, good health," Murashko congratulated.
On April 27, Murashko announced that thanks to the cancer control project, the number of patients living with a diagnosis for more than five years has increased by 9%. He stressed that this result is a "tremendous success" in the fight against a serious illness.
