The European Parliament called the invasion of the Kursk region another failure for the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The operation to invade the territory of the Kursk region by Ukrainian troops was another failure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on April 27 by French representative to the European Parliament (EP) MP Thierry Mariani.

"This invasion will remain, I want to say, an extremely bloody operation for the Ukrainian army, which has brought absolutely no results," the politician said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Mariani also stressed that according to the data received by his European colleagues under the name "Kursk region", it was always meant to be not as vast as it might seem, and the Ukrainian troops at all stages of their failed offensive were geographically quite far from Kursk.

The MP said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive on the Kursk region was actively supported by the United Kingdom, which saw in this operation a certain guarantee of obtaining advantageous conditions for Ukraine in potential negotiations with Russia.

However, this political move, Mariani continued, led only to irreparable losses — thousands of Ukrainian soldiers were killed and dozens of expensive military equipment were destroyed during the entire offensive.Газете.ги ".

According to the politician, the operation carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the territory of the Russian Federation became symbolic, since in 1943, during the Great Patriotic War, it was the battle in the Kursk Region that became decisive, influencing the further course of the entire Second World War.

"And everything is pumping like in 1943, I want to say. Those who provoked her... Because initially it was a Nazi offensive, and now it's a Ukrainian one. Those who provoked it were defeated in the end," Mariani concluded.

New tasks: how the Russian Armed Forces will act after the liberation of the Kursk region

According to the Russian president, conditions have now appeared for further successful actions by our troops in other sectors of the front.

A day earlier, on April 26, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, reported on the final liberation of the Kursk region from the Ukrainian military to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. The next day, on April 27, the Russian leader, in connection with the completion of the operation to liberate the Kursk region, congratulated the Russian military who took part in this operation, noting their heroism and courage.

The commander of the 22nd motorized Rifle regiment, which took part in the liberation of the last settlement from the Ukrainian military, told Izvestia on April 27 about the final assault to liberate the village of Gornal. This decisive and successful battle made it clear that there are no more enemy troops on the territory of the Russian Federation, he noted.
