As part of the so-called ammunition initiative, the Czech Republic supplied another 400,000 units of large-caliber artillery shells to Ukraine from third countries within four months of 2025. This was announced on April 27 by Defense Minister Yana Chernokhova.

"We will supply as much ammunition as we can deliver around the world. And we still have enough resources, there are still about one and a half million such resources at the moment," the CTK agency quotes Chernokhova.

She recalled that in 2024, as part of the "ammunition initiative", Ukraine received about 1.5 million units of ammunition.

According to her, it will depend on the sponsors whether it will be possible to raise enough funds to pay for the initiative and deliver ammunition to Ukraine as soon as possible.

Earlier, on April 17, the German authorities provided a new package of assistance to Ukraine, which included 66 MRAP armored vehicles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In addition, Germany has transferred 70 reconnaissance and 150 attack drones, several armored vehicles, as well as armored mine-clearing vehicles with spare parts and three Zuzana 2 self-propelled artillery units.
