The representative of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Johan Vadefuhl, may become the new foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). This was reported on April 27 by NTV, presenting candidates for the post of ministers of the future government from the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) bloc, citing sources.

According to NTV, CDU leader Friedrich Merz will officially unveil the future ministers his party will send to the federal government in Berlin on Monday. At the same time, the leader of the Christian Social Union (CSU), Markus Zeder, will present his candidates in Munich.

For example, former Bundestag deputy Katerina Reiche is expected to become Minister of Economy. The head of the Ministry of Education of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, according to NTV, may take up a post in the federal Ministry of Education. In addition, former CDU/CSU faction secretary Torsten Fry will head the office of the Federal Chancellor.

Earlier, on April 9, the media reported that the CDU/CSU bloc, which won the German elections, and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) had concluded a coalition agreement on the formation of a new cabinet of ministers of Germany. According to this document, the CDU will receive seven ministries, the SPD — five, and the CSU — three.

Later, on April 27, the media pointed out Vadefulya's pro-Ukrainian views. It is reported that he has repeatedly insisted on allowing Kiev to use German weapons on Russian territory, and also stated that Berlin needs to reconsider its previous policy towards the Russian Federation.
