- The President of the Philippines expressed his shock at the tragedy at the Vancouver festival.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on April 27 that he was shocked by what happened at the Lapu-Lapu festival in Vancouver, Canada, where an SUV ran into a crowd.
"I am heartbroken by the news of this terrible tragedy," the Reuters news agency quoted Makros Jr. as saying.
The Philippine leader also expressed his "deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the strong and prosperous Filipino community in Canada."
The incident occurred on the evening of April 26 during the celebration of the Philippine Lapu-Lapu Day. The driver of the car was detained. Vancouver police said that, previously, hitting a car into a crowd was not a terrorist act.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed his condolences to the relatives of those injured and killed when a car hit a crowd of people at the festival.
