The Economist has learned about the Pope's latest message


Before his death, Pope Francis left an encrypted message in which he pointed out the place of the church in the world. This was reported by The Economist magazine.
"The church must be close to those who are on the sidelines of society," the Pope is quoted as saying in an April 26 article.
According to the magazine, before his death, the pontiff donated about 200,000 euros to pay the mortgage to a pasta factory operating in a Roman juvenile prison.
It clarifies that Pope Francis has always treated prisoners with reverence, "calling for mercy to those who have made mistakes." He often visited prisons in his native Argentina and, while still Archbishop of Buenos Aires, performed the foot washing ceremony on Maundy Thursday before Easter in penitentiary institutions.
On April 26, the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis took place in the Vatican. It was visited by a total of 50 heads of state, including US President Donald Trump. Russia was represented at the ceremony by Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
Pope Francis died on the morning of April 21 at the age of 89. According to Professor Andrea Archangeli, director of the Vatican's Office of Health and Hygiene, death occurred as a result of a cerebral stroke.
