Chinese companies plan to move production to the United States due to high duties

Companies from the People's Republic of China (PRC) have begun to move production to American sites in order to avoid high customs duties on the import of their products into the United States. This was reported on April 27 by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) newspaper.

According to Zhu Ning, the head of a consulting firm that helps Chinese enterprises partially move production to the United States, over the past four months his company has received at least 100 requests for business relocation from China to the United States, which is approximately the same as for the entire year 2024.

On April 23, White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said that the American side does not intend to unilaterally reduce tariffs on China. However, Washington is optimistic about a possible agreement with Beijing.
