Ignat Kuzin, a suspect in the murder of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, was brought to the site of the explosion on Nesterov Boulevard in Balashikha. This was reported on April 27 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the scene.

The explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device. Investigators have opened a criminal case on this fact.
