France called on Macron to resign over the incident with Trump in the Vatican

French President Emmanuel Macron should resign in order not to undermine the country's authority in the international arena. This opinion was expressed by the leader of the Get Up, France party, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The politician's attention was attracted by a video showing Macron meeting with American leader Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on the eve of the funeral of Pope Francis at the Vatican. At that moment, three chairs intended for the leaders are visible in the hall where the meeting is taking place. However, later Trump and Zelensky have a one-on-one conversation, the third chair is no longer nearby.
Dupont-Aignan suggested that Trump had refused his French counterpart's participation in the meeting at the last moment, dismissing him "as a lackey." According to the politician, Macron has undermined the trust of other states in France, writes "Газета.Ru ".
"He has to leave. We need early presidential elections!" wrote Dupont-Aignan.
On April 26, the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis took place in the Vatican. A total of 50 heads of state attended the farewell ceremony with the pontiff. Russia was represented at the ceremony by Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
Trump and Zelensky met before the funeral ceremony. The head of the Kiev regime called the meeting a good one and clarified that the presidents had many one-on-one discussions. The White House also assessed the conversation as productive. Sky News channel reported that the presidents planned to hold another meeting after the ceremony, but it never took place.
