After the terrorist attack in the Indian city of Pahalgam, it became clear that the terrorists were once again determined to destroy the state of Kashmir, which had begun to return to peaceful life and develop. This was announced on April 27 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a Sunday address to the people.

He noted that the crime in Pahalgam reflects the frustration of those who patronize terrorism, as well as demonstrates their cowardice.

"At a time when peace was returning to Kashmir, schools and colleges were working successfully, democracy was strengthening, tourism was growing and new opportunities were opening up for young people, the enemies of Jammu and Kashmir and the whole country did not like it. The terrorists want to destroy Kashmir again," Modi was quoted as saying by News 18 India.

The Indian Prime Minister also assured the citizens that the organizers of the terrorist attack would be punished, and all those affected by the incident would "achieve justice." Modi noted that the terrorist attack had personally left a "deep pain" in his heart.

"Every Indian feels deep sympathy for the families of the victims, no matter which state they belong to, no matter what language they speak," the Hindustan Times newspaper quoted the Prime minister as saying.

On April 22, a terrorist attack took place in India, near the city of Pahalgam, which killed 27 civilians. The Resistance Front, which is recognized as a terrorist organization in India, claimed responsibility for the incident.

In connection with the terrorist attack, on April 25, the Indian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the decision to suspend the 1960 Indus River Treaty and cut off the supply of water from its stream to Pakistan. At the same time, the Indian authorities announced the suspension of the issuance of visas for Pakistani citizens. At the same time, Indian intelligence sources told the media that Pakistan's intelligence service and the country's terrorist forces allegedly plan to stage several more attacks in the Indian state of Kashmir, both on tourists and on police and intelligence officers.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on April 26 that the country's authorities are open to participating in any neutral and transparent investigation of the terrorist attack in the Kashmiri city of Pahalgama.
