On Sunday, April 27, when people traditionally celebrate Krasnaya Gorka, three marriages were registered at the Mayakovskaya metro station in Moscow. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin's New Addresses of Happiness project provides a unique opportunity to hold a wedding ceremony in the most unusual and beautiful places in the city. We are pleased that the Transport complex of the capital has been becoming a part of such significant moments in the life of Muscovites for 4 years. Congratulations to the newlyweds and wish them happiness!" said Maxim Liksutov.

Wedding ceremonies in the subway take place at night — from 2:00 to 4:00, when there are no passengers at the station and the event does not interfere with the organization of traffic. During the ceremonies, the Mendelssohn march is played, and two trains accompany them on the tracks.: "Moscow 2020" and the newest one is "Moscow 2024". After the wedding, the newlyweds can have their first family photo sessions on the newest Moscow-2024 train.

In order to hold a solemn ceremony at Mayakovskaya, you must personally submit an application at the Wedding Palace No. 1 and pay a state fee of 350 rubles. No additional costs are required.
Krasnaya Gorka is the popular name for the first Sunday after Easter, also known as Fomino Sunday (Fomina Week). This holiday has ancient roots and combines Christian and pagan traditions.

In pagan culture, Krasnaya Gorka marked the beginning of spring, the awakening of nature and the encounter with warmth. The holiday was accompanied by festivities, games, songs and dances. After the adoption of Christianity, the holiday retained its traditions, but became associated with religious aspects.

Traditionally, on this day, people went to cemeteries to honor the memory of the dead, and also performed various rituals related to spring work in the fields and gardens. Krasnaya Gorka was also considered a good time for matchmaking and weddings.
