The new season of the series "Operation Carpathians" will reveal unknown details of the fight against the bandit underground in Transcarpathia in the post-war years. The second part of the serial spy drama will be released on the REN TV channel on May 4.

The series takes place in 1948. The Ukrainian nationalists, who survived the defeat of the SS division Galicia, continue to organize bloody actions on Soviet soil. The main character, Lieutenant Voronovsky, is tasked with infiltrating a group of bandits. Because of this, his story was riddled with moral dilemmas.

"Then the concept of "Homeland" was a little bit different. Because if someone has a push like love, family, this character doesn't. But I came up with something for myself to motivate him even more, besides the fact that there is a task of a state nature," said Vladimir Verevochkin, the lead actor.

To infiltrate the Bandera group, Lieutenant Voronovsky has to learn the jargon and wisdom of the criminal life from a repeat Plague survivor. The criminal cooperated with the security services for the sake of his wife and son. Alexander Loye, the performer of the role of the Plague, noted that his character and the main character eventually form a complex semblance of friendship.

"It's an adventure story. It's an action movie, a detective story, a melodrama. All genres are mixed here," said the director of the series, actor Oleg Fomin.

A repeat of the first season of "Operation Carpathians" will be shown on REN TV on April 27 at 14:55.

As Yuri Nifontov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia, the series is a detective story based on historical facts. He noted the importance of such tapes so that young people could learn about their roots.
