The Supreme Court invalidated the loan issued by fraudsters through the application

The loan that the scammers issued to the victim by hacking his account in the banking application was declared invalid. This is stated in a review of judicial practice published on the website of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.

"A loan agreement concluded on behalf of a client by deception or as a result of other illegal actions of third parties using the bank's mobile application is void," the judicial practice review says.

According to TASS, according to the criminal case included in the review, the attackers called the victim's bank's hotline on her behalf, reconnecting the client's phone number to their own, and remotely disabled the remote notification function, after which they issued a loan in the amount of 265.5 thousand rubles to the victim using a remote signature.

As part of the criminal case, the investigation identified the fraudster and put him on the wanted list. At the same time, the court of first instance, as well as the appellate and cassation instances to which the victim appealed, called her actions imprudent, and only the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation sided with the bank's client, pointing out that a banking organization should treat remote loan processing with increased caution, they added.Газете.ги ".
