The explosion at the Shahid Rajai seaport in the city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran occurred due to a substance that is used as an ingredient for solid rocket fuel. This was reported by The New York Times on April 26.

The explosion at the Shahid Rajai seaport occurred earlier in the day. The blast wave was so strong that it severely damaged most of the buildings in the port, as well as cars. The Russian Embassy in Iran expressed its condolences in connection with the explosion at the port. Later it became known that the number of victims as a result of the explosion in the seaport increased to 14 people, 750 citizens were injured. Six people are missing.
