On April 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the exploits of Russian army soldiers in the area of the special military operation (SVO).

The ministry noted the actions of Lieutenant Nikita Pirozhenko, who with his unit carried out a combat mission to organize reliable and stable communications for a motorized rifle unit.

While completing the task, Pirozhenko's group was subjected to massive artillery fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Despite the danger to his life, the lieutenant, controlling his personnel, evacuated the military to the dugouts, after which, after waiting for a cease-fire, he organized the restoration of damaged communication systems.

Thanks to Pirozhenko's confident actions, the task was completed, and the higher command, having received the opportunity to communicate, coordinated the actions of the advancing motorized rifle unit, which led to the achievement of all set goals.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation pointed to the merits of Sergeant Evgeny Velichko, who acted as part of a unit tasked with defending one of the most likely areas of the enemy's offensive.

While at the observation post, the sergeant discovered two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the enemy approaching the positions of the Russian military. After clarifying the ownership of the drones, Velichko was given the task of destroying them and fired.

Thanks to his prompt actions, the enemy drones, designed to deliver a fire strike, were destroyed in the air before they could get close to the Russian positions.
