The Russian national judo team took first place in the medal standings of the European Championship (CHE) in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. This was announced on April 26 in the press service of the Judo Federation in Russia.

"We are proud to announce that our athletes took 1st place in the medal standings after four days of competition, ahead of France and Georgia," the federation wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is specified that this result is the fruit of daily work, perseverance and unity of the entire team, including athletes, personal trainers and mentors of the national team.

Earlier that day, Russian judoka Inal Tasoev became the European champion in the over 100 kg weight category at a tournament in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. In the final battle, he faced fellow countryman Valery Endovitsky, who won silver as a result.
