Meloni and Zelensky supported Trump's efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine

Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed support for the efforts of American leader Donald Trump to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. This was announced on April 26 by the press service of the Italian government.
"During the meeting, the leaders reaffirmed their support for President Trump's efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace capable of guaranteeing security," the government wrote on its website.
Meloni stressed the critical importance of an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
Earlier in the day, Zelensky said he had a good meeting with Trump in Rome. The Ukrainian leader noted that they had many one-on-one discussions.
Assistant to the President of the United States for Communications Stephen Chung said on April 26 that Trump and Zelensky met before the funeral of Pope Francis. It is noted that this meeting was the first since the public skirmish between Trump and Zelensky at the White House on February 28.
