- The United States and Iran have revealed a common desire for an agreement at the Oman talks

At the indirect talks between Iran and the United States in Oman, the parties agreed on a common desire to reach an agreement based on mutual respect and long-term commitments. This was announced on April 26 by Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Bin Hamad al Busaidi.
"Today's talks between the United States and Iran demonstrated a common desire to reach an agreement based on mutual respect and long—term commitment," the ISNA news agency quoted him as saying.
It is specified that the parties also discussed the possibility of lifting sanctions against Iran, subject to compliance with a number of requirements related to the nuclear program.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi thanked his Omani counterpart for organizing the talks and creating a calm atmosphere. According to him, it helped to hold consultations effectively. Among other things, he called the presence of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the talks effective.
"This round of negotiations was much more serious than the previous one. Gradually, we moved on to more detailed, technical and technical discussions. <...> Given that negotiations are conducted indirectly and technical discussions require a high level of precision, the written exchange of views greatly contributed to the advancement of negotiations," he told reporters after the talks.
The next round of proximity talks will be held on Saturday, May 3.
The third round of indirect talks between the United States and Iran ended earlier in the day. The Islamic Republic was represented by Araqchi, and the American side was led by US President Donald Trump's special envoy for the Middle East, Steven Witkoff. It was clarified that expert and technical discussions were included in the negotiations.
On April 24, Araqchi said that Iran was ready to "take the first step" and visit Paris, Berlin, and London to discuss the issue of its nuclear program. Araqchi noted that he was ready for a settlement before the start of indirect negotiations with the United States on the nuclear program.
