Since March, 808 residents of the Kursk region have been evacuated from the liberated territories. This was announced on April 26 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein.

"As of this morning, we already have <...> 808 (residents. — Ed.) has been evacuated since the March advance of our armed forces," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

On April 26, the head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the liberation of the last settlement captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk region. He also stressed that the enemy was forced to constantly transfer units from other areas to the Kursk area. The total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk direction amounted to more than 76 thousand people.

Putin, in turn, congratulated and thanked the personnel of the military units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation who took part in the defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region, noting that enemy losses in the Kursk direction would affect the entire line of contact.
