Sculptor Zurab Tsereteli was known for his good nature and love for humanity. Gia Volsky, a member of the Georgian Parliament, shared this with Izvestia on April 26.

"Known for his good nature, his love for humanity, for people, for his homeland. He left a lot of things to Georgia. Everyone loves and respects him. He has done a lot for humanity, not only for his homeland, so we are all sorry and grieving," he said.

Georgian singer Magi Gogitidze called Tsereteli a great, brilliant creative person.

The sculptor's widow and vice-president of the Russian Academy of Arts, Tatiana Kochemasova, shared that a large number of people, including his friends and family, came to say goodbye to him. She stressed that everyone present felt how much his death was a great loss and grief.

This morning, Tsereteli's funeral service was held in the church of the Didubian Pantheon in Tbilisi. The ceremony was attended by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, and Speaker of the country's Parliament Shalva Papuashvili. After Sulptor was buried in the Didubian Pantheon next to his first wife Inessa Andronikashvili.

Muralist, sculptor, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli died on April 22 at the age of 92. According to his assistant Sergey Shagulashvili, the sculptor died in his studio at home.
