In Germany, the head of the CSU was criticized for selfies from the pope's funeral

In Germany, Markus Zeder, chairman of the Christian Social Union (CSU), was criticized for posting selfies from the funeral of Pope Francis in the Vatican on Saturday. The Tagesspiegel newspaper writes about this on April 26.
"There's something completely undignified about travel selfies at funerals. The Pope's funeral is not Oktoberfest. So you can be glad that Zeder doesn't even have a kebab in his hands," Marie—Agnes Strack-Zimmerman, chairman of the Bundestag Defense Committee, wrote on Twitter.
Dennis Radtke, chairman of the Christian Democratic Workers' Association of Germany, said that "the boundaries of modesty and deference seem to no longer exist."
In the pictures themselves, which the German politician is discussing, Zeder and Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier are standing and smiling. Zeder also posted a photo of himself standing in line at McDonald's.
The funeral ceremony of Pope Francis was held at the Vatican earlier in the day. It was visited by a total of 50 heads of state, including US President Donald Trump. Russia was represented at the ceremony by Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova. On behalf of Germany, Zeder, Steinmeier and Acting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz attended the funeral.
Pope Francis died on the morning of April 21 at the age of 89. According to Professor Andrea Archangeli, director of the Vatican's Office of Health and Hygiene, death occurred as a result of a cerebral stroke. On the occasion of his death, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram of condolences to the Camerlengo of the Roman Catholic Church to Farrell.
