A family of four died in Kislovodsk from carbon monoxide poisoning.

In Kislovodsk, four people died — two adults and two young children, poisoned by carbon monoxide, a source told Izvestia on April 26.

"Four people, including two children, were poisoned by carbon monoxide in a house on Geroev Medikov Street in Kislovodsk. Everyone died," the source said.

Information about the deaths of four people was confirmed by the Ministry of Health of the Stavropol Territory. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region has opened a criminal case into the tragedy.

"On the morning of April 26 of this year, the bodies of spouses and their two young sons of three years and four months were found in one of the apartments of an apartment building in the city of Kislovodsk. According to preliminary data, the cause of death of the family was carbon monoxide poisoning," the agency's website says.

The investigative and operational group conducted an inspection of the scene. Forensic medical examinations have been appointed, and the investigation is ongoing.

On February 16, five people, including three children, were poisoned by carbon monoxide in the city of Kulebaki in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region reported that the apartment where the poisoned family lived was equipped with a gas column. All the injured were hospitalized and received medical assistance. A criminal case has been opened on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements (Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
